Community Events

This page lists community gatherings for writers, both in person and virtual.

Readers are welcome too, especially those wondering if they might want to write a book of their own.

Virtual Write-ins

  • A Writing-in is a Zoom meeting where writers work on their own pages as other writers.

  • Sessions typically last 60-80 minutes. You do not have to stay the whole time.

  • You choose how to use that time; write, edit, research, etc.

  • These sessions are about accountability and getting butts in seats. Writing doesn’t just happen. These write-ins are about establishing a regular routine to write while also getting support from others working on their craft.

  • To join a session, click the Day you wish to attend. It will open the Zoom Link.

  • There will be a check-in at the beginning. Everyone will have a brief opportunity to discuss what they will be working on.

  • A timer will be set and everyone writes. Microphones should be muted. Cameras may be left on or off.

  • At the end, we do a brief checkout of how it went and encourage each other. There is an open question period at the end for anyone who wishes to participate.

  • This is a supportive space for writers in all stages of the process.
