Idea to Book

Investment: $1,000

You have an idea you want to turn into a book and a general plan of how the story will go but still have some plot holes to work out.

Idea to Book is a guided process for writers who want to map the whole story out before they spend months drafting or revising.

Best for writers who:

  • have an idea and want build it into a book

  • stall halfway through writing because the pieces don’t connect

  • still have a lot of ideas and want to see how the scenes withing the big story

  • want a strong outline to refer back to and build on as they start writing

Idea to Book is grounded in the foundational text Blueprint for a Book by Jennie Nash and the Author Accelerator Method. You’ll receive access to a digital copy of the book, along with the workbook you will use to complete your own story blueprint. You will also receive a workbook on world building to help establish the setting and context of the story.

We start with a short goal-setting call. This call is to establish what story you want to tell, specific areas you are having issues with, and how you work as a writer. This helps us agree on a pace and rhythm that fits your life.

Prior to each coaching call, you will submit pieces of the blueprint for review. Earlier sections are revisited as you craft more of your story. Each new section is built on earlier work. This method lays out all the pieces so each scene makes sense for the big story and plot holes are plugged. By the end, you will have a solid foundation as you move into drafting your story.

What the process looks like

Design sketches and notes for a building on paper, surrounded by markers, tape, a notebook, a smartphone, and a laptop on a wooden table, with a bag of colorful markers and a magazine nearby.
