Sometimes the hardest part isn’t writing, but figuring out why this idea won’t go away and what it all means.
Story Focus is a working session for writers who want to brainstorm before making decisions about pages, structure, or direction.
This session is about exploring the idea to its fullest and seeing the paths it could take. There isn’t any judgement or final decisions here. Story Focus creates a safe space for you to talk through everything in your brain and discover where this idea might go.
Best for writers who:
have a story kernel, but don’t know what they want to write about
need space to info dump without keeping track of what they say
want to explore an idea without committing to a larger project
Story Focus
Story Focus is a working conversation about your idea.
Before we talk, you’ll fill out The Baseline, a set of guided questions of everything you know about your idea so far. It is the starting point and will help me plan questions for our session.
During our 75–90 minute call, you talk. I listen. I ask questions and take notes. I brainstorm with you to stretch the idea out if that is what you need.
After our call, I will draft a Story Focus Summary with everything we talked about and patterns that are present in the idea.
This session is all about exploration and discovery.
