The Stuck Scene

Investment: $100

Having trouble with a single scene can slow everything else down. Especially when putting it away for a while doesn’t work.

The Stuck Scene takes a look at a single scene anywhere in the book. It examines the moments before and after and what the beginning, middle, and end are doing. It breaks down what the scene should do and what it is really doing.

Best for writers who:

  • have rewritten a scene several times and still aren’t happy

  • need help understanding what the scene is doing and figuring out its purpose

  • set it aside to work on other things but still can’t figure it out

  • need help evaluating its function in the story

You’ll submit up to ten pages from the scene you’re struggling with, along with The Scene Brief. This short questionnaire adds gives context to what you know about the scene and its purpose in the story.

Once I complete my review I will supply written feed back and a link to schedule a coaching call.

The 60-minute call is to talk about the feedback, ask questions, and look at next steps to help with continued drafting and revisions.
